Overtime: Yes
Overtime details: 1.5 X Normal rate. Overtime is offered but not guaranteed.
Estimated hours per week: 32 hours per week
Job Prerequisites:
- Participants are required to take a 30-minute unpaid meal break for shifts exceeding 6 hours. In addition, participants are required to take a paid 15-minute rest break. All breaks require participants to clock in and clock out according to Hannaford policy. In addition, all times for breaks/ lunches are determined by the Department Leader.
- MUST BE ABLE TO RIDE A BIKE, AS THIS WILL BE YOUR PRIMARY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION. Please note there is NO public transportation in this area.
- May need to lift anywhere from 10 lbs – 70 lbs. Participants will need to walk and stand for long periods of time and may be required to wear a wireless communicator.
- Ability to read, write (in English) and perform basic math functions, communicate with the customers, meet production standards established by Hannaford. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift as noted above.
- Must be friendly and respectful towards supervisors (male and female), coworkers, customers, and other program participants.
Spacial Prerequisites:
YOU MUST ARRIVE 1 DAY BEFORE YOUR DS-2019 START DATE, NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Arrival is always on a Monday and the DS-2019 start date is always on a Tuesday. In order to take advantage of Hannaford airport pick up options if the store is providing airport pick-up, you will need to arrive at the designated airport in your arrival instructions on the Monday before your start date.
If you arrive early or late, it is your responsibility to pay for food and hotel costs until orientation day/your start date. Hannaford housing will not be available until the day of your orientation/start date.
Participants will be required to handle all types of food in various roles. If you have any allergies or restrictions that will prevent you from handling seafood, meat (pork, chicken, beef), dairy, produce, etc. and thus prevent you from doing your job, please make the interviewer for Hannaford aware during your interview to work to provide you accommodations.
Job Description :
- All participants are hired in as Supermarket Associate Positions.
- Specific position in the supermarket will be determined during Orientation.
- Positions will be mutually agreed upon for best fit for participant.
- Once a position has been assigned, participants will be expected to work in their assigned department for the duration of their program.
- Positions and role requirements are not gender specific.
- All positions will be expected to assist in maintaining store cleanliness and thus may be required to use cleaning chemicals.
- This may include cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, and other general sanitary needs.
- Participants should be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
- All participants must provide quality customer service to customers, engage and interact with customers to create a positive shopping experience.
- Understand and adhere to Food Safety guidelines and procedures, adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Must meet productivity standards established by Hannaford.
